Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

Yeah, I felt the same way.  Why would I invest $600 on a refurbished model that could possibly have the same screen problem.  I decided to get a new laptop, but not a Microsoft Laptop.  I decided to purchase a Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen 5.  I'm not happy with Microsoft at all.

Well, I'm having the same issue. My screen is yellowing and the battery is causing the display to bulge making this "premium Microsoft product" unsafe and unusable.

I contacted Microsoft support who let me know I'm outside the extended warranty period. Which was graciously extended because they know there's a defect with these.

Support offered me a same generation, refurbished model for CAD $1,000. So, another $1,000 for another Surface Book that will eventually have the same problem.

This issue absolutely needs legal action.

    UPDATE:

I told Microsoft that I'm not satisfied paying $1,000 for another Surface Book and the support agent I was speaking to said he would pass my case along to someone higher up to see about another solution.

Well, almost a month later I get an email from Microsoft Support. This time, they've offered me a Surface Pro 4 for $600 CAD. They want me to pay $600 to downgrade my laptop.

At this point it's almost like they're trying to add insult to injury. I'm so frustrated.

    UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:

Apparently the support agent made a typo. The latest offer is a refurbished Surface Book replacement for $600 CAD.

Again, why on earth would I spend another $600 for a laptop that will have the same issue eventually.

All of these experiences on this thread, and now a page on Facebook, strongly suggest a class action, although there may be many obstacles, perhaps insurmountable. But I can tell you from experience that this situation lends itself perfectly to a class action. There is no doubt that there is a product defect, and Microsoft kept selling the defective product long after it knew about it. One possible -- and typical -- problem is that there may be an arbitration clause in each sales contract, precluding a class action. But since I went through this inexcusable conduct by Microsoft myself, I am entirely sympathetic to the desire to make them pay for their outrageous behavior, to loyal customers in particular. I'd be curious to know how many people on this thread would be interested is pursuing this course. Their behavior is wrong, immoral, and inexcusable.

Report to https://www.saferproducts.gov/Default.aspx  It's a start - I did. The more people that do might make it reach a threshold where the government would actually do something.

My Surface Pro 3 bought in 2015 was OK for around 12 months - then the fan started to make a loud noise like there was a hornet trapped in the machine.  This noise comes and goes and will always be triggered if I change the orientation of the device.  For a device that is supposed to be mobile this is terrible design.  Now the screen is actually separating from the device and I have discoloration (yellow streaks) at the bottom of the screen.  The screen is being held in place with scotch tape. This device has spent 99% of its life just sitting on the top of my desk and has never been bent or experienced any rough treatment.  I called MSFT and the best offer is to charge me $600 for a Surface Pro 4.  In addition I called the local store and they admitted that my configuration with an I7 chip had overheating issued in 40-50% of the devices.  I am very unhappy with the durability of the device.  I feel like MSFT sold me a lemon and that they admit/know they sold me a lemon but are unwilling to replace it.

The small claims court option has been on my agenda but have not tried it yet. Link to article on it below.
