Yellow tint on Surface Book Screen

I have a really noticeable yellow tint stain on all sides of my Surface Book. I spent well over 3 grand roughly a year or two ago on this "State of the Art" machine and now this? I need this fixed - how do I get this resolved? If its past the time limits you still need to fix this issue, I have seen too many posts on this now and it seems like faulty equipment - not something we should have to have already on this machine we invested so much into!!

Well, I'm having the same issue. My screen is yellowing and the battery is causing the display to bulge making this "premium Microsoft product" unsafe and unusable.

I contacted Microsoft support who let me know I'm outside the extended warranty period. Which was graciously extended because they know there's a defect with these.

Support offered me a same generation, refurbished model for CAD $1,000. So, another $1,000 for another Surface Book that will eventually have the same problem.

This issue absolutely needs legal action.

Microsoft knows they built some crummy hardwire in these devices and just made a business decision to not stand behind the product and screw their customers.  I recently bought an ASUS computer to replace my Surface.  It will be a long time if ever before I buy anymore hardware from MSFT.

I got the same BS as others here in. Took it to an MS store and they want to replace it with a refurbished unit of the same design. I have no interest in returning to the MS store every 12 months with this recurring issue. I dropped nearly 3K on a high end laptop and expected it to be my mainstay for alt least 3 or 4 years. 18 months and the run around is all is all I got for my investment.

Congrats MS, you got me... I won't be back. Too much risk.

I just got off the phone with support for the same issue. They offered the $600 replacement as well. I asked that it be escalated up a level and was told they will contact me on Wednesday. NOT ACCEPTABLE to pay so much for a product that will not last two years.

My screen was starting to bulge out - you could see a hump forming (they told me it was the faulty designed battery behind the screen). Do you have any bulging on the screen you can see? Faulty design isn't the consumers fault! I would escalate the issue and let them know other stores replaced the unit

I had the exact opposite experience.  The screen of my Surface Book is yellowing on both sides, so I took it into the Microsoft Store in Los Angeles (in the Century City mall).  They told me that I'd need to pay $600 to replace the screen.  It's truly unbelievable to think that I spent $3000 on a computer that needs the screen replaced after a little over a year due to a known defect.  Shame on Microsoft for this.  I'll highly recommend to everyone I know to stay away from the Surface in the future.

Please show them my post and call corporate office if necessary, this is their flagship product and its known issue

I had the exact same situation as Jeffs did.

MS told me the repairing cost would be $599.00.

I spend more than 2,500.00 around two years ago(Dec of 2015).

The MS guy told me they knew the problem already.

MS must recall or have free fix if the problem is caused by the manufacturer.

Hope they do some responsible solotion for the damaged customers.
