This is for sure a huge issue. I see thousands having this problem and all seam to come from a "microsoft firmware update" killing a otherwise working tablet. I see the only way to get it fixed is to send it into microsoft and they will charge us $450 usd and "fix" the problem. I am not happy and hope they release a fix for a problem most think they created. I see a HUGE class action coming soon and hate to cause problems for a company like you I have defended thousands of times to friends who talk bad about them.
Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.
Thank You.

2016-09-18T23:35:57+00:00 I took my Surface into my local Microsoft Store a few hours ago and let their technicians work on it. They spent 3 or 4 hours installing various versions of Windows, but could not fix the issue. Since they couldn't fix it by reinstalling Windows, their response is that it must be a hardware problem. Sounds like a cop-out to me. And yes, the only option they are giving me is to replace the Surface with another unit for $450.

2016-09-18T23:46:28+00:00 Seams like that is the standard answer. I can not see how it can work just fine one day and then after a firmware or update it no longer does being a "hardware issue" But we are forced to buy another future problem. seams like a HUGE scam that has to be addressed by a HUGE class action

2016-09-19T17:34:40+00:00 i have the same issue with my SP3 i3 model. It was working fine until the anniversary update and now i have the same exact issue as Ashatron. My SP3 will not run off of battery at all and when plugged in, the status is 81% plugged in not charging.
Definitely a FW issue since the tablet should charge when off or before the OS because this is independent of the OS.

2016-09-20T18:51:06+00:00 I have confirmed that my device also has the LGC battery, has there been any updates on any resolution? This issue occurred at quite possibly the worst time considering the school year just started. instead of having an ultraportable device, i am tethered to a desk
