I don't know who has the audacity and keeps marking this as the answer (second time it has happened) but it IS NOT solved and this IS NOT the answer.  You have a HUGE number of people replying here stating that the firmware IS NOT solving the issue and that we're still experiencing problems, essentially voicing the complete opposite of what you are suggesting.

Following the instructions in the article listed do not solve the issue either, and when we contact you for further assistance, we're either given this exact same answer, ignored, or asked to pay money for anyone to review our issue that was caused by firmware Microsoft released in the first place.

I'm trying really hard to remain civil here, but clearly this is a canned answer that came after not reading anything anyone's listed here.  WE ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS AFTER FOLLOWING ALL SUGGESTIONS AND INSTALLING THE SUGGESTED FIRMWARE.  It's quite clear you aren't looking to solve the issue, but to instead sweep the issue under the rug and continue to ignore it as you have for the last 6+ months.

What kind of nerve does it take to blatantly ignore everything in these postings that CLEARLY indicate none of what you just suggested works, because trust me, we've tried. My SP3 was working just fine until the August firmware update, when, just like most of the people here, the battery broke and now doesn't stay on unless plugged in. No other firmware, no matter how excellently installed by me or anyone else, has since fixed it. SO FIX THIS AND QUIT MARKING THIS A SOLVED ISSUE. I've already purchased a new tablet to replace the brick you turned mine into, and trust me I didn't buy it from Microsoft. What a great product gone to waste. You've lost a lot of existing customers by ignoring us this long.

I've tried all these things. Furthermore, I reset my surface pro 3 which was a HUGE mistake. Now it won't even stay powered on long enough to run windows updates on my slow DSL connection! I'm sorry, but this Surface Pro 3 was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent, and I am simply appalled at Microsoft's response. $29 to talk to a service tech for an upwards of $2K device that didn't even last two years. What a disappointment!
