It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Thank You.

Just Tipped this to a host of renowned tech blogs (GSMarena, Phonearena, TechCrunch, ARStechnica, WIRED.com, VentureBeat, PCmag, TNW, Tech2, WCCFtech, Digital Trends, Engadget, The Verge). Just hoping that some of these will carve a story out of it and this issue may get some spotlight. Please post it to as many tech blogs as possible.

Subject: "Surface Pro 3 with LGC batteries issue"

It's been more than 4 months now (for some users even 6 months to 01 year) that my Surface Pro 3 with LGC LGC batteries is completely unusable. It all started on 29/08/2016 when Microsoft pushed a firmware update for SIMPLO batteries after which our devices (with LGC LGC batteries) got following problems.

1 - Surface will not turn on without AC adapter connected.

2 - Surface battery is stuck at some percentage.  Surface will not charge the battery while on or off.  OS reports that it is plugged in but not charging. The % of battery will keep on degrading (for me it started from 69% now its down to 28%).

3 - Surface turns off immediately after unplugging AC adapter.

The recent firmware update by MS on 07/11/2016 has not solved these problems for even a single user on forum. We doubt it was even a genuine update to counter these problems. MS has turned a deaf ear to our repeated requests and queries. Huge number of Surface Pro 3 users with LGC LGC batteries have been affected by the identical problem for their devices all after the 29/08/2016 firmware update and yet MS denies the possibility that its because of their faulty firmware. We are also wondering why none of the renowned tech blogs has reported this #SurfaceGate yet in any of their articles specifically.

I request you to visit the provided URL of thread and see for yourself how big a number of SP3 users being affected by these identical problems and help us get a solution for it from MS who has apparently once again (as usual) ditched its customers. Thanks.

My battery is now at 0% and not charging, was stuck at 99%.  The battery has degraded over the past 7 months to zero. I refuse to pay the $450 for a refurbished unit with 60 day warranty as the solution....

I think this may be the only way forward. My escalation through Microsoft's legal division has hit a dead end, after going full circle and ending up with Surface Support (who, of course, default back to - 'it's hardware sir'. Sigh...

I still have the same problem on my Surface PRO 3 with LG battery.

Plugged In, Not Charging. When I remove the power cable the Surface PRO 3 will shut down immediately.

Installed all updates, removed battery drivers, reinstalled thru update, did the shutdown post update, etc.

Nothing Helps. This is so frustrating. I like the Surface PRO 3, and wanted to purchase a 4 over the holidays, but this experience has pulled me a away from getting another Surface.

Why such a long delay in fixing the issue. Firmware updates where issued, but nothing changed.

I think a class action lawsuit is our only option.
