Can I reapply the firmware update?
Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.
Thank You.

2016-11-09T01:28:46+00:00 Well I'm leaving my SP3 on overnight to download the update. Last time I did this it killed the Surface completely so wish me luck.
Which reminds me Microsoft, now that you've admitted it is a firmware issue are you going to replace my first SP3 that you killed in August or am I going to have to get legal support to make you?

2016-11-09T01:35:07+00:00 Hi Greg,
Same here, I had to send my surface pro when the August patch didn't work :( Will there be a refund? I had to pay $500 which is not a small amount and doesn't feel like worth to spend when it's a firmware issue.
Thanks,
Avinash K N
Hello everyone,
We are aware of a battery issue that is affecting a limited number of Surface Pro 3 users. We can confirm that the issue affecting these customers was not caused by the software updates issued on August 29th. Our team is actively looking in to the issue to determine the cause and identify a fix. We will post an update as soon as we have more information to share.
Greg
Hello everyone,
Thanks for your patience while we identified a fix for this issue. We have now completed our testing of an update and it has passed our quality assurance process.
The update, “System Firmware Update - 11/7/2016”, is now available to install from Windows Update.
Before installing this update, ensure that your Surface Pro 3 is plugged directly in to AC power using the standard AC power adapter (do not use the Surface Docking Station), disconnect any USB devices or external monitors, and check that Windows shows a 40% charge or greater when you hover over the icon in the taskbar before you begin.
Once you install the update, please select Restart now (do not shutdown). After your Surface restarts, please manually restart it a second time to complete the process. For more information, please see our Surface Pro 3 Battery FAQ article.
Should you need any further assistance, please contact us.
Thanks again.
Greg
Good luck. I paid out of pocket as one of the earliest to report the Simplo battery issue. There was a promise people like me would be contacted. No reports of anyone being refunded 3 months later...

2016-11-09T01:59:47+00:00 My firmware update won't finish. Surface pro embedded controller remains a splat, says a restart is required to get it to finish but when I restart nothing changes, it never succeeds.
What can I do to finish the update?

2016-11-09T03:20:17+00:00 Same for me. The update cannot finish and yellow marks for Embedded controllers in Device Manager. My battery is 0% and voltage bellow critical value of 5.8V (2.9V per cell).
I guess Microsoft is in panic when they issued this update.
Just a waste of time for me, very disappointed.
