Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Thank You.

You're suggesting they might be liable for the damages and opened to litigation.  I agree with you there and would certainly entertain joining a class action lawsuit.

However malice requires intent and I find it highly unlikely they intentionally broke our computers.

    Agreed,

I would  focus on gross negligence, to poit where they simply need to be held to account for the consequences of their actions.

It would appear that they did not undertake sufficient risk assessment when trying to help out the SIMPLO problems.

While their intentions may be good, the consequences of their failures in due process have caused harm to others.

I don't believe it requires malice, simply poor judgement and neglkect.

Surely they owe a duty of care.

Newegg is running a promo on new SP3 265 for just 650.

At the rate Microsoft is not solving our problems (That they created) I suspect they may be just trying to 'run out the clock' by waiting for the price to drop so much we're better off moving on.

If this problem isn't fixed before I start shopping for my next tablet I can promise I will never buy another surface again for any reason.

That would be a really bad long term decision for short term gains. If this is isn't fixed, I will never buy another piece of Microsoft branded hardware again. I've only had my Surface for about a year, and shouldn't have this issue. I'm being forced to use a MacBook as an alternative. Is this the type of situation that Microsoft wants to be in, where their consumers are forced to turn to the competition because of the shortcomings of their product?

While I agree with you, the writing is clearly on the wall.  Paid only support (just to talk to someone) an outrageous exchange fee, radio silence/ignoring the issues entirely despite numerous tech articles written on the subject.
