I'm just curious - has anyone heard anything at all from Microsoft?? I lost patience, and found that i could no longer sign in to this community after leaving a particularly irate message - I'm assuming that it's just a coincidence, so i signed up with a different account... I just want to know if I'm totally screwed here, or what? Fair guess is that i am since i don't receive return emails either, but one never knows - last time i spoke with someone from Microsoft i was assured that this was a"known issue, " hence the reason why there is no possibility of any out of warranty fix (in assuming... Yet?)... It's confusing ...i mean, does that mean that since they "know" there is an issue, they must not be responsible for defective hardware? Confused...
Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.
Thank You.

2016-11-01T01:25:55+00:00 I could still sign in, and no MS rep has said anything since acknowledging that this is an issue. Whether or not they are working on a solution, we don't know. Whether or not we'll get an update by the end of the year, we don't know.
For now I am using my Pro3 as a Desktop.

2016-11-03T12:12:16+00:00 Must have been a weird glitch that day because i just signed in now with my original account.... I'm petty sure that i remember reading your Microsoft community forum name (ashton14) in a story someone recently wrote, about the SP3 battery issue. If you have not received help and you were quoted in the story (can't remember which media outlet wrote it), then there's probably less hope for me lol.
Well, I'm deciding to just practice the art of acceptance. As difficult as it is, i have no choice but to accept that I'm stuck with what i purchased. Some companies will recall defective products and some will not - look at Samsung for example - how long did it take before they issued a recall for the note 7? I think over a year and they were literally blowing up!

2016-11-03T15:54:23+00:00 Any update on this? I updated my SP3 this last week or so and was immediately plagued by this issue as well. While I take comfort in knowing it's not an isolated incident, I'm also greatly concerned that this has been going on for over 2 months now with little to no word from MS as how to resolve or fix the issue, and other support channels (Twitter @SurfaceSupport, MS Answer desk) reply as if they've never heard of the issue.

2016-11-03T16:04:16+00:00 I dont know what the big deal is. $550 to replace a battery is perfectly reasonable.
Whys everyone harrassing the Surface team. Have they not been completely transparent since before the release? They even did a Reddit AMA!
In fact, why do you even want to use a year old Surface when you could buy a new one with volume knob?
