Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Thank You.

If you’re having trouble charging your Surface, you get a low-battery error, or your Surface turns off when you unplug it, the steps in our Surface battery won’t charge article can help you pinpoint and fix the problem.

Please also ensure you device is up to date by downloading and installing the latest Surface driver and firmware updates from the Microsoft Download Center. Look for the Windows 10 or Windows 8 .msi file.

Should you need any further assistance, please contact us.

Anyone else come across this?  I just did a google search for surface pro 3 lgc lgc class action and found these lawyers are looking into it.

I'd contact them myself but it seems only open to Americans.

Just really tire of the endless loop of battery not charging... battery fully charged... battery not found... update this update that. Looks like there are no cures for the firmware nightmare microsoft sent us that makes our surface pro 3 a SUPER expensive doorstop when moved or touched. I have forgot what it was like to be able to use it beyond the power adapter. The best part was just overnight after a update we all were left with a worthless brick we payed retarded money for.

I figure it couldn't hurt to post this.  January 3rd was an interesting day.   The machine is just a little over a year old.  Shouldn't have these problems!

Hi Amy, sorry I couldn't tell you as my Windows Updates doesn't show any updates older than a week or so.  We used to get a whole list of updates in Windows 7, but 10 takes a little too much out of our hands.  That's how I feel anyway.

Windows 10 and Surface, great products... when they work.
