It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

    Yes, I did that first hoping the Win 8 driver would help. Then I did the Win 10 and currently waiting on that.

    I dont think I will ever buy anything with a sealed battery again.

    This has been a huge disappointment to me. Sorry for rambling but my Surface RT v1 battery is still working like a champ after all these years.  The kids broke the hinge off of it and I replaced that.  It is a tank.  

    We just have unlucky units of SP3 and it doesn't seem like Microsoft cares. I have all but given up on depending on Microsoft for a fix. Moved past anger to acceptance.

    I have a Dell Precision now. Its my second one. Love them. Dell support has been excellent (actually for a battery replacement). Highly recommended Surface replacement.

    Has anyone tried resetting from Windows 8 recovery image from this link

    I tried from Windows 10 recovery image but no luck. May be recovering from Windows 8 recovery disk will solve the problem if its due to 29/08/2016 firmware as it would automatically roll back firmware. Kindly someone give it a try and let us know.

    Mine got down to about 28k during the SIMPLO malarky, but after the fix, it has risen - although my battery is also LG.  It is now back up to pretty much 100% of the original. Perhaps it's a batch issue? Or mine's being hidden?

    No, just observing the other posts.

    I have an exactly two years old LGC battery in a Pro3, reporting +44k mWh while lasting only ~2 h for regular online browsing @ 50% light, 2 m beside the Wifi-router. The 7% Warning comes ~15 seconds after the 10% warning, and from there the device dies in ~2 seconds if I don't manage to grad the charger quick enough. Somerthing is deeply screwed here and simply "resetting" the reported values so that everything appears about normal again for a while, as did the last "fix" is not a trust-building measure if not further information is provided about the underlying causes - it is as mere workaround!

    I did the battery recalibration already several times over the last weeks..no change. All updates applied.
