Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Thank You.

I've drafted a letter to Microsoft's Corporate and Legal Affairs office in the UK asking for their assistance and guidance on this matter. It'll get posted tomorrow and I'll keep you all updated with progress! Here's hoping...

I guess this is a lost cause. At this point, regardless of whether or not MS fixes this issue I can safely say I will never buy another Surface product again. Now I have to figure out what to do with this paperweight, because I certainly cannot use it in its current condition. You win MS. Or do you?

The problem with the petition is that this is an issue that has been kind of covert.  Customers do not necessarily know they are having it.  If they are under warranty, they just get it replaced, if they are not they *might* go with the 450 exchange without realizing that the problem was software and microsoft's fault all along.  I believe this is at least somewhat on purpose on their part.

Yeah, unfortunately that is what I have gathered thus far. I just wanted to ad my name to the chorus of disappointed customers. I don't know that an online petition would help much, but it would be interesting to see just how many users are having this problem. I would assume most users aren't aware that it exists.

Microsoft does NOT repair, they replace (with a refurb) and they've been

charging $450 in the US. The battery is not replaceable. This really is your

only option. Microsoft has not commented on any of the posts where this issue is

    described.

ask a more knowledgeable friend or even someone at BestBuy to help you run a

battery report and copy and paste into a reply.

to do this, open an administrative cmd prompt and type

    powercfg /batteryreport

    >>So, MicroSoft, if I was to send my Surface back for repair, what would be the actual cost?  Is replacement of the internal battery, the only option?
