Start a new answer thread. Though before you do, try disabling sleep mode (so that nothing no way can get you into sleep mode) using hibernation or straight shutdown instead. Then go through the steps outlined and see what happens. For me at least doing so fixed my problem.
Surface Pro 3 LGC Battery Degradation

It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.
Thank You.

It seems with my surface that sleep mode primarily causes the issues I experience. Basically if I change my surface to never go to sleep mode ever, it'll work properly.

2017-01-14T04:30:19+00:00 I tried your idea as well, but didn't have any luck whatsoever. Thanks for the effort and ideas though!
My situation seems to be getting worse as the Surface now struggles to even start up even when plugged in if I leave it and let it go into sleep mode.
Just a simple rollback option for firmware would be nice!
Seems like a really crappy lottery as I bought my girlfriend and myself twin Surface Pro 3s last year and hers is still okay.
Come on MS, I know you read these comments. Let us know you're doing something!

2017-01-13T20:14:02+00:00 Ms has admitted as much in the past, even in this thread. That is why I keep trying ways to get it to self correct. But it seems there is something in the firmware that eventually causes it to break. I wish we could hack the firmware code.
