It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

    Hi Joseph,

    What is going on internally in MS regarding this issue? We have tried all of these "troubleshooting" steps to get our devices working. My paperweight of a device has been placed on a shelf since September of 2016 after a frustrating attempt to use my "ultraportable" device device tethered to the wall. Any slight movement against the power cord would turn the device off causing obvious data loss. Other users have suffered with this issue longer.

    We have waited long enough for a fix for this issue. Who can we escalate this issue to internally to get some sort of amicable resolution? It is quite pathetic that such an expensive device was barely put into use for 13 months before it catastrophically failed.

    We will not keep quiet about this issue until a resolution has been made. If no response is received here, or if my post is deleted, i will continue to pursue other avenues.

    This issue has persisted long enough and Microsoft has had ample time to seek a solution.

    Hello Luke,

    Can you confirm if you followed these troubleshooting steps:

    • Uninstall then re-install the battery driver?

    • Did you check this link for battery issue?

    • Is your device has the latest updates installed?

    I'm still disappointed that the Simplo guys are fine (colleague's Pro3 is fine), whereas us LG battery has our Pro3 utterly useless.

    I have the Simplo battery and my SP3 is not fine! My SP3 is almost 100% dead. It will not stay powered on even with the AC adapter plugged in (and I've tried multiple adapters). It powers on for a short time, then dies without warning.  Tried all MS "suggestions" and nothing changed. I'm so embarrassed by this device because I've spent so much money for the i7 version and it lasted two years under very gentle use and now seems like complete garbage with no support from MS. The words "utter disappointment" now comes to mind every time someone mentions a Surface Pro to me!
