It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Looks like roughly 1000mWh lost peer week which will drag my battery down to 0mWh in about 5 months dpending on how many times I need to charge it. Microsoft will either make lifelong proponents or opponents with this mess. They need to just suck it up and start recalling devices. I have an i7 512gb device that's way too expensive to turn into a brick in a couple of months.
I am in the same situation on a fresh install. Every since the new update I have been seeing inflated charge counts and loosing a few mWh per charge. Very troubling for such an expensive device. At some point MS needs to just face the music and fix users devices. I was seriously considering upping to the next Pro or a Surface Book but this has me concerned. It is not like a regular laptop where you can just buy a new battery. I have devices that are older, but little to no battery degradation.
After a burning it until shutdown today and giving it a 5hr charge, it dropped to 37,688 for today (not pictured 11/18)....sigh
I'm back too again. Although technically mine was fixed with the firmware update, I'm not sure if it was fully fixed. I've been working on it for exactly a week now and i'm noticing something odd. So my battery went from recognizing only 5000 mWh to now 39,000 mWh but each time I use this during the day and charge in the evening, I noticed a couple of hundred mWh is unusable. so in this past week, I went from 39000mWh down to 38000 mWh and seems to progressively get lower each day I use it. Any thoughts? Oh and I forgot to mention my cycle count is currently at 436. Yeah, I use it a lot.
My lgc battery is at 2 cycles no battery present 100% charged. Dies immediately when unplugged. Nice 900 dollar paperweight
Yeah its frustrating to say the least. 2 Cycles? Is this just out of the box Surface Pro 3? What is your full charge battery capacity? My cycle count was 177 yesterday, it is at 199 today after one full discharge/recharge.

So I have an LG battery it has been experiencing similar problems and based on this thread I've made some observations which may help some people.
In my case the battery was undetected and would not report power level or anything else.
Since the most recent firmware (which I struggled to install) when I finally got it on, it made no difference. . .
This was until I powered my surface on without being plugged in from sleep mode. This resulted in the machine detecting my battery.
When I plugged it back into the wall it returned to not being able to detect my battery and then once again after putting it into sleep, unplugging, then powering on later the battery is detected and properly reporting level of charge. I may later see if I can plug it in and have the system continue to properly report that it has been plugged in.
For anyone else struggling (whose surface has enough charge to unplug without shutting down), you should try plugging it in, putting it into sleep, waiting about ten minutes then trying to bring it back up to see if that makes a difference.
