Well, it worked for me until this week. Idk what broke it again ...
Either KB5060842, KB5063060 or the firmware update (Microsoft Corporation - System Hardware Update - 5/21/2025)
What a shitshow

I am on my second keyboard/cover for my new Surface Pro 11 and am experiencing the following issue: On some startups -- not the majority of them -- the keyboard does not pair with the Surface Pro unit. The only solution has been to detach the keyboard from the unit and reattach it. I have cleaned the contacts (although this issue arose almost immediately out of the box after purchase), and followed a few other suggestions that I found online. One thing I have not done is reinstall the drivers. I can't imagine that they are out of date and a check of each says that they are up to date and the best drivers for the unit.) So, my question is this: if two different, new keyboards have experienced the same problem, does it sound like the issue is with the Surface unit itself? And if so, what other remedies are there before I turn it over to an expert?

I agree, Kathy, they are great devices... when they work. We have purchased eight so far. At least they fixed the wobbly line issue with older models (when drawing diagonally). Numerous people complained, but they took no action until later models. Also, the ARM processor opened a slew of issues. I'm done with it and I'll give another company a try.
I'm not quite there because it's still a great device and at least there are good workarounds. But I hear you!
The thing I'm not completely happy with, and it's my fault for not doing more research on the specs, is the Snapdragon processor that doesn't allow a few things I would like to have done. But for my more casual needs at this point, it's a great, portable device.
Agreed. This is also my very last Surface. Shame on Microsoft for not listening to disgruntled customers.
Unfortunately, as of 6/13/25 with all updates installed, this is still a problem.
The only solutions I've found are Miles' in a post above. I use his workaround of pressing the start button before I open the keyboard, and that works. But we shouldn't have to use workarounds, especially about six months after this product was released.
