Keyboard on new Surface Pro 11 does not always pair with unit upon startup

I am on my second keyboard/cover for my new Surface Pro 11 and am experiencing the following issue: On some startups -- not the majority of them -- the keyboard does not pair with the Surface Pro unit. The only solution has been to detach the keyboard from the unit and reattach it. I have cleaned the contacts (although this issue arose almost immediately out of the box after purchase), and followed a few other suggestions that I found online. One thing I have not done is reinstall the drivers. I can't imagine that they are out of date and a check of each says that they are up to date and the best drivers for the unit.) So, my question is this: if two different, new keyboards have experienced the same problem, does it sound like the issue is with the Surface unit itself? And if so, what other remedies are there before I turn it over to an expert?

Same issue here, on a new Surface Pro 11 with detachable Microsoft keyboard. On startup, the keyboard does not respond. I have to detach it and reattach it to get it working.

We need to get Microsoft to take notice. Too many people are having the same issue. I called into a Microsoft store the other day, they had no idea about the issue.

Does anyone know how to contact Microsoft directly?

Having the same problem here with the base Surface Pro 11 w/5G.

Bought 3 of the new Surface keyboards w/Co-pilot key (but different models), and it happens with all of them.

Always after shutting down or when it goes into a "deep sleep" after a a day or so of not using it.

No other issues, and detaching and reattaching the keyboard always has resolved it for me.

Now just looking for the next firmware update.

I know it's really frustrating. You don't expect trouble with a brand new machine.

    Maybe it's co-pilot and AI? It's too soon. P.

Thank you. How does one get this update. Does it come automatically with any other Windows updates?

I am reporting back to say that, after a little more than a week -- maybe 10 days -- and on our second keyboard cover, the coupling issue has evaporated. I did nothing in particular, other than go into the EUFI screen every time the keyboard wasn't recognized upon start up (pressing the START and Volume button) and getting the keyboard to be recognized. I'm not saying this will work for anyone else and I'm skeptical of the problem "just working itself out," but there you have it. I hope others on this thread have experienced similar results.
