Hi.

The last month, my surface keyboard (External bluetooth version), keeps loosing connection to my surface book 2, if i have been away from the office, or my Surface book 2 has been in standby..... (I have tried to change the batteries in the keyboard)

When it happens (Which is does many times a day), i have to delete the paired surface keyboard on the surface book.. wait about a minute, and the press the pair button on the keyboard, and pair it with my surface book again. Then i works undtil the nex time it has been in standby or i have been away from the office....    I have han the surface book and keyboard 7 months, and have never been a issue before a month ago.  (I have tried to run e driver update, and the bluetooth repair, nothing helps.

They funny thing is, that i have a business partner in another company with the same setup as mine, he told med that he has the same issue with keyboard as i have....

Any ideas what our problem is, and are there other with the same issue???

The same issue has been going on for years, seems like Microsoft's customer 'care' needs a bit more energy. Their own keyboard doesn't seem to be compatible with their OS. Come on Microsoft, lift your game a bit!

I have 2 of these 100% BT Microsoft surface keyboards (1 came free with my Surface studio 2 ) and they are both unreliable and infuriating to use. As the OP and others point out the mouse works perfectly fine it is just the keyboard that disconnects, lags, doesn't wake from sleep for over a minute or 2. Although this may seem like a small gripe I totally disagree, productivity nosedives with these kinds of inconvenient delays.

In the end I opted to ditch the useless thing and buy a proper keyboard, I couldn't risk wasting money on another BT keyboard so I went with USB, this is because I could never pinpoint the issue being with the Marvell chip or the BT transmitter/receiver in the keyboard. The Marvell Avastar is a substandard component regardless in my humble opinion, and that of many other users on many forums.

The best keyboard money can buy, and some useless junk.

    Hi,

I have the same issue with Microsoft ergonomic keyboard on my Surface Book 2. It keeps disconnecting due to inactivity and then it fails to reconnect (in many cases). I have to disable and then enable the Bluetooth in action menu to get it working again. I have also the Microsoft precision mouse and no such an issue there and it works without problem. I am waiting for the solution since the purchase (in January 2019).

One of my customers has the same problem. 4 Surface Pro in one small room. Each with a MS Dock, 2 27" screens and a MS Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Only the Keyboard looses connection about 3 times a week.
