Bluetooth Surface Keyboard keeps disconnects from my surface book 2

Hi.

The last month, my surface keyboard (External bluetooth version), keeps loosing connection to my surface book 2, if i have been away from the office, or my Surface book 2 has been in standby..... (I have tried to change the batteries in the keyboard)

When it happens (Which is does many times a day), i have to delete the paired surface keyboard on the surface book.. wait about a minute, and the press the pair button on the keyboard, and pair it with my surface book again. Then i works undtil the nex time it has been in standby or i have been away from the office....    I have han the surface book and keyboard 7 months, and have never been a issue before a month ago.  (I have tried to run e driver update, and the bluetooth repair, nothing helps.

They funny thing is, that i have a business partner in another company with the same setup as mine, he told med that he has the same issue with keyboard as i have....   

Any ideas what our problem is, and are there other with the same issue???

    Just a quick reminder of how my issue worked out - for new readers of these posts.

    I had the exact same problem others are reporting:

    Keyboard disconnecting, needing to be removed and re-paired in Bluetooth settings

    The fix for me was to install the drivers for the USB motherboard chip.

    The drivers that came built-in to Windows 10 could not be tweaked to work - many, many attempts.

    So - visited the support page for my motherboard, (ASUS) and downloaded the driver that they supplied for the USB3 chip.

    Ever since that got installed the keyboard has worked perfectly. It NEVER disconnects now.

    This fix has survived 2 Windows 10 major updates (W10 2004 and W10 2009).

    Hope this helps someone.

    Thanks for getting back! I'm using it with an iMac, which has all the drivers provided (and installed). Right now I'm trying to tweak the power management settings of the Bluetooth interface (to not let windows turn it off to save power), yet I'll look for USB motherboard chip drivers as well (if any). 

    Some sources suggest to just trash the Surface Keyboard, but honestly, it is one of the best keyboards on the market. Also, ironically enough, I'm using it without a single issue on macOS every day. The Microsoft keyboard only has defects on the Microsoft operating system. 😆

    Yeah. You can do all of that to (maybe) get a keyboard to work for a moment, or just buy any other keyboard on the market and plug it in without trouble. Personnaly, i don't feel it's my job to do all of that, when other device engineers have already done the work to make their devices operate without all of that effort on my part. The fact is that it shouldn't take all of that. You and I have devoted more time than Microsoft to the resolution of this matter, by posting here. Microsoft obviously doesn't care whether their device works or not. Even MAC engineers have done the work to make this device operate with their system. MAC engineers care about this issue more than Microsoft engineers. Go get any other keyboard. Problem solved, and less expensive too.

    Yes - I hear you. The built-in Windows Bluetooth driver really should work without all this additional messing around - especially as this keyboard is very expensive.

    I don't mind doing a bit of fixing if it solves the problem, but yes - it should not be necessary.

    This seems to be an issue with the surface book 2 as I have the same issue when using the Logitech MX Keys bluetooth keyboard.
