Hi.

The last month, my surface keyboard (External bluetooth version), keeps loosing connection to my surface book 2, if i have been away from the office, or my Surface book 2 has been in standby..... (I have tried to change the batteries in the keyboard)

When it happens (Which is does many times a day), i have to delete the paired surface keyboard on the surface book.. wait about a minute, and the press the pair button on the keyboard, and pair it with my surface book again. Then i works undtil the nex time it has been in standby or i have been away from the office....    I have han the surface book and keyboard 7 months, and have never been a issue before a month ago.  (I have tried to run e driver update, and the bluetooth repair, nothing helps.

They funny thing is, that i have a business partner in another company with the same setup as mine, he told med that he has the same issue with keyboard as i have....

Any ideas what our problem is, and are there other with the same issue???

Chris, are you ever planning to get back to us. Your product has failed and you seem to have ghosted this issue.

I have the same issue on a Dell. Only the Microsoft Keyboard. I looks like your keyboard is not the only thing ghosting you. What happened to Christopher_Col "Microsoft Agent | Moderator". Great follow through there, Chris.

I've found the quickest way to reconnect the keyboard when it is not responding is to go to "Connect" under quick actions (little notification at the bottom right of the screen) and just press any key on the keyboard. It usually connects immediately.

This is just a workaround and Microsoft should seriously come up with a proper fix.

Open Device Manger and Expand Bluetooth Adapters. Double tap "Marvell Avastar

Bluetooth driver" and click Power Management, unmark "Allow the computer to turn

of this device to save power" and click Ok.

Thanks so much. In my case it was the Intel (R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) under Bluetooth in Device Manager.

It is only a TEMPORARY fix.

    it eventually goes out again.

It appears to  be some kind of problem with the surface, not the keyboard as this happens with many different brands.

Microsoft will probably continue to ignore this problem and blame it on the keyboard

I had this problem and re-paired the keyboard with no new problems. Earlier when I posted about the problem, i did not see any recommendation to re-pair the keyboard so I will suggest it just in case you haven’t tried that solution.

In Windows bluetooth settings, delete the keyboard from the list of paired devices. Click to add a new bluetooth device.

There is a rounded tube molded to the underside of the keyboard. It runs the entire width of the keyboard. Find the left side of the tube underneath the keyboard. Press in the middle of the tube-like, and you should be able to depress it. That should allow your Windows PC or laptop to discover the keyboard. It will instruct you to key in some numbers or letters to finish the pairing.

This worked for me. If someone else posted this suggestion, I did not see the post. If this something you’ve already tried then pardon me for wasting this space.
