Hi.
The last month, my surface keyboard (External bluetooth version), keeps loosing connection to my surface book 2, if i have been away from the office, or my Surface book 2 has been in standby..... (I have tried to change the batteries in the keyboard)
When it happens (Which is does many times a day), i have to delete the paired surface keyboard on the surface book.. wait about a minute, and the press the pair button on the keyboard, and pair it with my surface book again. Then i works undtil the nex time it has been in standby or i have been away from the office.... I have han the surface book and keyboard 7 months, and have never been a issue before a month ago. (I have tried to run e driver update, and the bluetooth repair, nothing helps.
They funny thing is, that i have a business partner in another company with the same setup as mine, he told med that he has the same issue with keyboard as i have....
Any ideas what our problem is, and are there other with the same issue???

I get the exact same problem with an iClever Bluetooth
IC-BK08 Tri-folding keyboard with Touchpad.
Problem started with a recent windows update.
If the keyboard is not used, it disconnects, you have to erase it from bluetooth devices and reconnect, only to have to do the same thing a few minutes later.
Can't believe people have been putting up with this even with Microsoft keyboards for over a year now.
I have owned the Microsoft Surface Keyboard for close to a year without problems, using it on two computers (I pair it each time, it's not great but it works ok).
But recently, both my computers received the Windows 20H2 update on the same day, and the problem started the day after on both computers. Nothing else changed, batteries are new-ish showing 85%.
The keyboard gets disconnected after a few minutes of being idle, sometimes just a few seconds.
Pressing keys can bring it back up but it takes a few seconds, and sometimes it doesn't work, in which case, I remove the keyboard in the Bluetooth and Other Devices settings, and I re-add it, then it works again.
Pairing is also not working as well as before. I used to be able to easily pair the keyboard with which ever computer I was using, but now it can take multiple attempts and reboots before it accepts the pairing.
My computer is a desktop with:
Win 10 Pro
20H2
19042.746
Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0
I found that the keyboard properties in the settings differ when it's functioning vs not, attached a screenshot.
This keeps happening to me with my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse Combo, so frustrating - it only disconnects the keyboard the mouse remains connected. I thought it was the Keyboard so just purchased a brand new one and it is still happening!
I've tried removing/re-adding the devices, updating drivers, changing batteries etc. nothing has fixed this issue.
Does anyone have a solution?
I'm using NUC - and the keyboard was put into sleep mode if I'm using it for some times. It took few seconds to reconnect by pushing any key on the keyboard, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. It's really randomly happened. Another thing is, if this happened on the logon screen, I have to use display keyboard just to type my pin. It's very annoying.
So no fix until now ?

Do yourselves a favor. Dorchester the Microsoft keyboard and get a Logitech mx series. They work.
