Absolutely shocking POOR QUALITY CONTROL! I've had to return 6 x SP3 i5 PRO ranging from Lot # 1427-1434 here in .AU and got a refund all due to the YELLOW BANDING on screen. The last unit I got before getting a refund, I opened in front of the SALES PERSON
inside the shop... and the unit had a physical deformity where the top right corner glass was a little raised.
I'd say 70% of buyers probably wouldn't pickup the evident yellow tint or banding flaw but if we point them to it, it becomes apparent.
Imagine how much Microsoft would have profited if they pinned this obvious manufacturing DEFECT right from the word GO! There are droves of people returning their SP3 due to this issue. Many others are holding on for an exchange until this is properly addressed.
I am one of them that will have to wait. My workplace returned 30 units due to this issue plus some had physical defect (kickstand improperly aligned and loose, some casing was warped, some had chips, but almost all had the yellow banding issue).
I'd imagine MS would have a mountain of these to units to "REFURBISH", and that would meaning breaking the glass and replacing them with revised panel?
Seriously Microsoft need to get their act together and REFINE the units.
