Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

Changed your settings so that it never puts itself to sleep.  Not on battery power and not when plugged in.  That should solve it.  I had the same problem with my Surface Pro 3 and my Surface Pro 4.  I called the help line and they gave my that fix.  It has worked for me.  You can still put it to sleep by quickly pressing the start button when leaving your desk and it should wake up from that.  The problem was eventually fixed with my Surface Pro 3 but I do not believe it is yet fixed for the 4

And... it can't wake up today again.

So two button shut down can't solve this.

So i've been trying to trouble shoot this issue for a while now.  I'm on my second Surface 4, trying to stay vigilent as we work through the bugs.

It seems if I leave the surface overnight in hibernate mode, it won't come back out of it.  I have to reset it with the power button.  Not sure if the screen isn't returning or the device is actually froze up.

I already eliminated the MS Hello as I heard this was an issue with hanging up.

Does anyone else have issues with the Surface not coming back up after a while?

There is an advance setting under power settings, Sleep settings in which you can change when the device hibernates.  Default is 120 minutes.  I did find out that if you turn the Network card off while sleeping, and it continues to sleep until it reaches 120 minutes and hibernates, once in hibernation it will come back up but the Network card won't find any networks.  Have to turn it off and on again.

I wonder if the Network card is not allowing it to sleep/hibernate correctly.  I switched the Network card to shut off while sleeping, hoping to identify if this has anything to do with the issue.

All the latest updates and firmware is installed.  Any feedback is appreciated.

Update:  After setting hibernation to "Never", the surface is still hanging up requiring a reset by the power button.  This is after sleeping for 2 hours.

"Downgrading" the graphics and surfacedisplay drivers to the 10/26 versions doesn't seem to have helped either.
