Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

My SP4 had seemed fine since the "big" updates, but now I'm noticing that tooltips (the small windows that appear when hovering over system tray icons) seem to disappear at times, and so far my impression is that it is related to being in prolonged sleep (probably more than 2 hours, but need to test).  It has happened irregularly but suggests one more bug with Win 10.

    For reference

    1. My dad has a Nokia Lumia 2520 and he's never said anything about it failing to wake.
    2. I have the exact same Type cover I had on the failing unit (got both on Oct 26th), I didn't replace that. And the wake behaves completely different on this unit. Last one Lot 1541 I tried everything on, new one is lot 1613 as a reminder for everyone.

I would consider this a minor bug, definitely software related.

In fact any time I move my SP4 to my desktop set-up or vice versa, I have to log out and back in because it messes up the scaling of the desktop icons and the tooltips on the taskbar. It's an annoyance, but not a deal breaker or something they sold me on and didn't deliver. From what I read about some of the underlying changing I'm thinking Redstone 1 will fix this (Anniversary Update)

Absolutely..I'll try the other scenario one of these days, will be tough to replicate exactly on a weekday.

I've never really read these reports, because it never slept without failing, but I would like to hear your analysis. Doesn't look great as far as my battery usage in sleep. Of course this is a brand new unit, I haven't even gotten through the first full charge of the battery.

I also have it set up to save power with cortana, and not use WiFi during sleep, and I'm running on the Release Preview Ring so I have 10586.240 as well as some recent Surface Driver updates related to the Camera (These only came down when I joined the release preview ring, so they aren't pushed out to non-insiders yet)
