Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I tried the Surface Diagnostic Tool.  It came back with an error saying my screen saver was turned on.  I never use screen saver.  So I went to Settings to turn on the screen saver and turn it back off.  My SP4 seems to be more stable now.  I still have to do the reset twice today but it did wake from sleep more often.  Will have to do more testing...

    Well status quo, after running the surface diagnostic tool and the windows updates, the system does seem to come out of sleep better for very short sleeps, but unfortunately after 10 minutes or so, I still get the black screen with not way to get out of it. So it "seems" better, it's not black screening 95% of the time, like it used to, but w're also not talking about a real fix for how most people use sleep.

    No Dice!

    Several months ago my SP4 was having wake problems but after upgrading to the beta Intel display driver (way back when), I have not had the problem since and I continue to allow all Windows Updates to be pushed to me...including today's Intel chipset pushes, and all is still good with my device.  I feel for you who are still plagued by this issue, I know it frustrated the heck out of me when I was experiencing it.

    Anyway, I also wanted to report that a co-worker of mine had the same SP4 issue (and worse - rapid battery drain, generally funky behavior).  She was able to convince MS to exchange her unit - and her new SP4 has been flawless for the last 2 weeks.  She even said she got 3 days of "almost all work day" usage out of a single charge (which is a little hard to believe, but regardless, she is now very happy).

    Can I ask, which Intel Beta Driver version did you use ? and it hasn't caused any touch screen issues such as rapid phantom touches ?

    Also are is your surface on an Original Factory Image or have you wiped and used a Vanilla Win10 image ?
