Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

The problem is there is no set of circumstances, actions, type cover attachment or none, that make this bug (or possible solutions) consistent as far as I can tell from all the posts here. For me in the end, I have resorted to turning it completely off every time. I no longer get the 'no wake from sleep problem' nor my missing bluetooth waking from hibernate.

It is quite efficient in a way, but wonderfully (!) inefficient.

Yes, but completely unacceptable.  Microsoft still needs to step up and fix this right!

I have been looking for a common thread which explains all these wake from sleep issues. Since early on shortly after receiving my i7 on 11/19/2015 I stopped having most sleep issues.  I never get wake from sleep problems and even with connected standby enabled my power usage during sleep never exceeds 2% per hour and is usually less.  I now typically get at least 6.5-7 hours battery life at 40% brightness with battery saver always enabled and battery processor max set to 50%.  Recently going back to the Standard NVM Express Controller driver from the Samsung one went a long way to improving battery life especially during sleep. Lowering the keyboard brightness when not needed also helps significantly.  I also removed the Iheart Radio app which according to sleepstudy was the biggest offender second only to the Samsung NVM driver.  Running the "Improve power usage" troubleshooter also resolved some usb power mgmt issues also identified by the sleepstudy.  And I also disabled bitlocker very early on for other reasons(disk imaging).  As for the 3/22 update I find it was successfully applied on 3/22 and then again on 3/24, very odd.

Can anyone tell me why it was rejected? Hmm.. I'll just tweet this image across social media - shame on MS for rejecting this very honest opinion.
