Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I checked this and all the updates have been successful and I am still having this problem. Forcing a restart is not acceptable as this could cause a loss of information.

I purchased my surface pro 4 two months ago, and after numerous windows updates, the problem with Surface Pro 4 couldn't wake up from standby persist.

At first, I thought it was just a one time problem. However, it happens almost every other day, when I didn't turn off my Surface pro 4 and let it go into standby. By the time I need to use the computer, I couldn't wake it up despite the fact that I've tried every solution: 1. click the mouse
1. type anywhere on my type cover
2. press the power button.
Eventually, I have to long press the power button to turn the power off completely. (If i don't have my type cover, i wouldn't know how long i should press for because there's no indicate lightning telling you the power state)

The question is: how to fix this?

Look, I love the idea of using a laptop/tablet, made and designed by Microsoft with both hardware and software, and being productive with my work. But all those software and hardware incompatible issues just make me feel disappointed and inefficient. Especially i found so many similar issue happened to other users with Surface pro 3 and 4.

Enough is enough! Please fix the issue.

As you can see, the forum is loaded with people having this issue.

It did exist before the 2/17 update but, let's say this firmware exacerbated something that makes the problem very apparent now.

We are all waiting for something, whatever, from Microsoft to fix this nasty issue.

I hope they realize how damaging this is for the product. We're 5 months after release now. And still not reliable.

Josh or Microsoft team - I bought the Surface pro 4 last month and am facing the same issue, I checked per your instructions and I am up-to-date on the updates. What is MS's plan to fix this frustrating issue?
