Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    New Surface Pro 4 owner here, and same issue. Thanks for the write-up, but not holding my breath we'll get an official acknowledgment. Not sure why I continue to be a Microsoft evangelist .....

    A assure you I am a Microsoft EE (btw EE == employEE).  Below is my blog - A little out dated, and not sure why my Badging isn't carrying over from there.  (another issue).  I can't make promises, it is not my team, other than I'm investigating and will bubble up internally.  I'm experiencing the same issues as described.

    First, let me say THANK YOU! All the users here need is even an "we are looking into it and will get back to you when we have some solid answers". Just an acknowledgement that it's an issue and someone is spending even 10% of their time looking into it!

    With the new Ink stuff coming, I really want to be able to have my SP4 in sleep like my phone, so I can come out of that and quickly jot notes before I lose a thought. Whether in the middle of the night, half asleep in the morning, or middle of an activity during the day. It's a big reason I bought into the SP4

    is the fith time my laptop Keeps black after a sleep mode. Type  cover's light still works. So I have to push power button as minimum 15seconds and it turns off (keyboard turns off) and then turn it on again. My SP4 i5-258gb-8gb was bought 3 weeks ago. Sincerely I want to return it, cos each time IdK whether it will work or not. What to do?
