Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

When you are a microsoft employee they tell you not to speak for the company on forums in fact there is a whole series of training around handling oneself on social media forums etc. He may not want to be badged as an employee, in fact I am surprised that he even told anyone he worked for the company.

At least, we now have someone from Microsoft (EE ??) showing some concern.

I hope that more details of what is going on will be revealed in the coming days.

Chess does NOT (currently) have an official Microsoft badge. Until such time as you see the official Microsoft badge, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/page/faq#faqWhosWho7 -- I've sent email to forum management to see if this person should be badged, etc.

If chess does not work for Microsoft they need to immediately hire him. If he does work for Microsoft, he deserves a bonus. Management should read his post and try and emulate him. A few posts like his, and I could become a Microsoft fan again.

Again, I understand issues with new tech happen. There is no avoiding that. Microsoft needs to understand that apologizing and keeping customers up to date on remedial efforts creates happy customers. Happy customers help sales and profits in the long run.  Happy customers are kept in the loop. Unhappy customers are treated like mushrooms. (Kept in the dark and dumped on.) Unhappy customers will cost Microsoft far more than admitting there is a problem.

A assure you I am a Microsoft EE (btw EE == employEE).  Below is my blog - A little out dated, and not sure why my Badging isn't carrying over from there.  (another issue).  I can't make promises, it is not my team, other than I'm investigating and will bubble up internally.  I'm experiencing the same issues as described.

Thanks Barb Bowman / Given the blog link above they should be able to verify I am who I say I am.  I also stand by that I care about our customers and this company.  To that end you have a champion :)
