Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I had gotten my 1st SP4 in January after liking the SP2 and had researched about the upcoming update, hoping that the problem would soon be fixed and the sleep issue would be fixed up. My SP4 then proceeded to get stuck in a reboot loop before finally blue screening on me within 2 weeks. They then gave me a new one which worked pretty well before Feb 17, it still had a few sleep issues here and there but was manageable. After the update, my SP4 just decided not to wake up every time despite the keyboard lighting up. I have since turned to hibernating it. Not too impressed :(

    Microsoft,

Please fix this.  I have even turned off the sleep function and shortened the hibernate timer but having the same issue coming out of hibernate too. This along with the Surface Dock not working with my monitors are leading me to return this and opt for something a bit more reliable.

    Microsoft!

Please hear your customers! Your latest firmware update DID NOT FIX this issue. Black screen is still there.

I was saving for months to get my surface pro 4 i7 256GB tablet, paid a small fortune for it and now am a very-very disappointed man, like many others here.

    1. Disappointed because your flagship has such substantial issues.
    2. Disappointed that you seemed to spend much more money on advertising than on development and testing.
    3. But most of all I'm disappointed in the lack of concern for your customers on this support forum!!!

First two points we can forgive, since it's a new, cutting-edge device and there bound to be some issues with it. We understand that it takes forever to do anything in a company as big as yours.

However, I'll speak for everyone here if I say that point number 3 disgusts every single one of your customers who posted in this thread. It's been more than a month since the firmware update and more than a month since people started posting that the issue wasn't fixed. How difficult is it to say: "We are aware that the issue was not fixed, we are currently working to resolve it"?  How inconsiderate and irresponsible are you guys? This month-long silence makes us think you simply do not give a toss about us (your customers).

We all realize that this issue is a software issue, but Microsoft is a software company before anything else, is it not? This issue was observed on Surface 3 model as well. Do you really not care about customer feedback? I'm a partner of your developer network and it's stuff like this that makes me less and less proud I am one.

If there is no reply from the support by the end of the week at least acknowledging the issue still exists , I'll be returning my newly purchased device back to the store. And I bet Microsoft reputation, I won't be the only one to do so.

Still happens after update installed successfully; maybe not quite as often, but still happens at inopportune times.
