Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I'll add a me-too. I've got a i5/512/15, and if I let it go to sleep on its own, I often (but not always) can't get it to wake up. I do see the keyboard come on, so I'm pretty sure it is on. The only thing I can do is the hard power cycle. No windows hello, but I do have HyperV on.

I will try putting it to sleep purposely to see if that helps.

Really annoying. I have to do this two or three times a day right now.

      Cheers,

        Gordon.

I am having the exact same issue. I have the 256GB 8GB RAM surface pro 4.

Unlike everyone else though when my machine decides to turn off I cannot get it to turn back on again no matter how much try and reset it with the power buttons. However what I have noticed is that once I have left it over night it starts up first time in the morning. The time shows me the exact time is died the previous night.

I have wondered if it was related to charging the device because it seams to die when I am charging the device and working at the same time. This is really upsetting for me as I have spent a significant amount on this device for a lightweight device for my work. I really hope they sort this issue out. I have a replacement on the way from Microsoft but I fear that the issue will be the same on the next device.

If the issue is with a video driver then why Microsoft not been honest and told us Surface Pro users that they know the issue and are working on a FIX.

    update...

microsoft still has not sent the replacement. Surface pro is still crashing. i am really not impressed buy the service or the product.

What i have found is that the machine is crashing and turning off.... when then happendz it will not turn back on. it takes me a long time of continually holding the power button for the device to start back up.

I am have exactly the same issue.

I am wondering if downloading the recovery image and refresh installing the device with the USB drive will help

    Anyone has tried it?

If it is not working still, I will send it back
