Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    looks like roll back the previous created flicking problems as well when playing youtube video get occasional 'Display driver stop working but have recovered successfully'. I revert back to the latest display driver but I have issue not able wake up Surface once it goes to sleep.

    Is there a solution to this problem? Currently I have shutdown and start up every time I want to use it. It is very frustrating when considered I paid a premium price for high-end convertible.

    I also found that if the keyboard is connected, it might take a bit longer to wake from sleep. IE 2-3 seconds rather than 1 second or so. If the keyboard is folded behind the unit, the screen doesn't turn on (it possibly woke the computer up since sometimes it will make sounds) when you press the power button. But then if I unfold the keyboard to typing position, then press the power button, it wakes up.

    Also, now that and update was sent out, waking up has been more consistent, but again with the keyboard folded back it has been hit and miss now. I guess that's a few steps forward, and one back.

    I try your idea, win+p two times. It is working, now Surface can wake up. I hope Microsoft can fix this problem early.

    It looks like a display driver problem to me... I got message 'Display not responsive... but have been recovered successfully...' at time when I surf with Edge. I also notice if I don't dock in the surface keyboard and use it primary as tablet, I don't encounter much of a problem 'won't turn-on' once it goes to sleep or press the power button momentarily. If I dock in the keyboard then I can reproduce the problem very frequently. This is very strange.

    I'm using Windows 10, 1511 with the new system firmware update via Windows Update a few days back. A temporary solution is to roll back the display driver to a older one and it seemed to work for me. I'm using a Core M3, driver version 10.18.15.4256 dated on 17/7/2015. hope this help.
