Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I have the system firmware 11/18/2015 update installed and I am still having problems with the wake up mechanism working consistently. I don't have Hyper-V enabled. I notice that just before the wake up mechanism fails the SP4 makes a notification bell noise and then I have trouble waking the SP4 back up. Happens randomly but more often the last few days.

    Also - purchased a surface dock (brick) and it makes my screen flicker and blink uncontrollably when plugged in.

    Help?

    Out of curiosity, do you see Lock Screen "Not responding" messages in the Reliability History activity? I do pretty much everyday.

    I try your idea, win+p two times. It is working, now Surface can wake up. I hope Microsoft can fix this problem early.

    I can confirm this as well now. Not an ideal solution as I would rather have it just.... wake up, but it works for now.

    looks like roll back the previous created flicking problems as well when playing youtube video get occasional 'Display driver stop working but have recovered successfully'. I revert back to the latest display driver but I have issue not able wake up Surface once it goes to sleep.

    Is there a solution to this problem? Currently I have shutdown and start up every time I want to use it. It is very frustrating when considered I paid a premium price for high-end convertible. 

    As far as I know there is no fix available yet. I've switched the power options to hibernate my tablet when I push the button or close the lid, etc. This means I don't have to keep rebooting it, but is definitely not a solution (and resume from hibernate definitely takes longer, but not much, than wake from sleep).

    You can do this by going into power options, and then along the left side, you can click on the link having to do with buttons.

    Other than that, we are stuck waiting for a real fix from MS or Intel, or whomever has to generate it. :(
