Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

Same problem here. SP4/256/8. This seems a consistent problem with Pro 4 because I have already returned one for this same reason. Cannot re-start it from sleep mode, press the power button several times with no results, the keyboard illuminates for a sec and then goes out. I have resorted to shut down the machine completely all the time, which is far from ideal. In browsing the web for this problem found a similar complain for the Surface Pro 3 and the solution suggested there was to change the power management setting in the "Marvell Avastar 350N," but could not find such settings in the Pro 4.

I really like everything else about this computer, that is why I got another one after returning my first, but Microsoft should fix this soon.

    Thanks

So you just deleted the typecover in the device manager. Can you use the typecover after that? Or does the keyboard item in the device manager come back again after you use the typecover?

    Yes,

The reboot re-installs the drivers.  It's pretty simple.  However, after 8 hours of hibernation, I pushed the power button and saw the surface logo and spinning wheel for about 5 seconds.  Then it went black.  I waited patiently and after about 60 seconds I pressed the power button again and it woke up.  Not exactly a good experience.

The issue is still not fixed.  This is not acceptable for Microsoft to take so long to fix this.  This should be their highest priority given that people are returning Surfaces and keyboards.  They are losing credibility and customers at the same time.

Luckily, I purchased mine from Best Buy and they now have a holiday return policy of January 15th so Microsoft has until Janissary 14th to fix this.  If not, I'm getting a full refund.

I already returned a SP4 because of screen flicker and wake from screen issues. I am wondering now, if I buy another SP4 and the issues are not completely resolved and I decide to return it, will I be able to return it? MS won't "blacklist" me for returning two device? or do you guys think I should wait until these 2 problems are 100% resolved?

I get the devices with my student account so I am assuming they can see a full history of my purchases.
