Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

During hibernation it saved an image file of the desktop into SSD. An image file is usually quite large. If SP4 were to hibernate frequently there's frequent big files written to SSD. This will eventually wear down; do note there's a limited write cycle to an SSD but virtually unlimited read . Hibernation is only done as a last resort. Connect standby saved it to memory and put device into deep sleep which is preferred solution

Finally decided to return my second Surface pro 4.  I cannot believe Microsoft has not fixed this issue yet or at least commented that there is a problem and letting us know they're working on a fix.

Got my second SP4 back and still having the same issue... The latest display driver update did reduce the like hood of a driver crash but I still get this once a while. However, the sleep issue did not get fix in this update.

I begin to wonder whether Microsoft is able to resolve the sleep issue soon judging that Intel Skylake is a relative new CPU. If there's a bug in the CPU, then it needs a microcode patch, a BIOS update and subsequent a display driver update. This takes **** a lot of debugging time. Hibernation is a temporary fix but if you keep on hibernating many times per day, you are going to reduce the life of the SSD! The only fix that I know it will definitely work is to treat SP4 like a laptop, shut it down if you don't use.

Unfortunately time is really an essence and people over here are getting really frustrated and may eventually ended up returning them.
