Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I see that my Intel graphics driver was updated 3 days ago. I am getting different symptoms since then as far as the wake from sleep problem. Here's what has happened twice now since then.

    The SP4 went to sleep due to me not using it. When I tried to wake it up I get a black screen with the mouse pointer only. I am able to move the mouse pointer around. If I press the power button once the screen is dark black. Press power on again and it is dark blue but nothing on the screen. When I hold the power button to reboot I get part of the logon screen saying to swipe down to reboot. If I swipe down the screen goes black and it does not power off. I had to hold down the power button for 30 seconds to reboot. Then all is fine again.

    I couldn't find the hibernation option for my SP4. Pressing the power button on the start menu just says "sleep", "shut down", and "restart". As for the video driver from Intel, do you mind linking me the download? I'm unfamiliar with these types of things and I wouldn't want to install the wrong driver on accident and cause more damage.

    The best way to wake an sp4 from sleep is not to put it to sleep in the first place.  Use hibernate until MS releases the next video driver which should fix the problem.  Or install the latest video driver from Intel if u can't wait.  I installed it and have no more "can't wake from sleep" problems.
