Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

FYI - SP4 left me hanging twice during public presentations (display freeze, failure to wake)...personally, I am back on iPad for the foreseeable future as a result. I loved the concept of the SP4, but my unit did not seem ready for primetime!

Adding myself to the crowd...I've had the SP4 i5, 8GB, 256GB for 4 days so far, and had the no wake from sleep issue around 4 times, requiring the 30 sec power button to force shutdown.  It's been OK so far today...but it's only 4pm lol.

Here's something I experienced once so far.  This was prior to upgrading to Build 11586 however, so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.

    Screen shaking

I hope things work out with the SP4 because I'd like to keep it, but it's got to be more reliable.  I am hoping to use it in place of an iPad when I do public speaking and presentations.  Last thing I need is to tell the audience to chill while I reboot!

    I had the same\similar issue.

I went into the power settings and advanced power plan settings and slightly changed them, and saved. I then went back in and changed them back to what they were originally.

Since this change I have yet to have an issue. Note: previously, every time the computer went to sleep I could not get it to wake at all other then hard resetting. It has been ok for the last 4 days. (knock on wood).

My model is the i7 16gb ram with type cover on it .

    Good to know.

I have the same model. Since the last updates occurred on mine I haven't had the problem so far.

It's come out of sleep mode each time I've let it sit for a considerable length of time (about half a day or more)

I will keep your reply in mind though. Sometimes things get written to the registry differently when done manually as opposed to letting Microsoft update the settings.
