Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I'm now seeing that if I leave my Surface Pro 4 on at my desk and it puts itself to sleep, then I can not get it to wake back up.  It's the i5/256/8GB model with a Type Cover on it and nothing else.  When I try to wake it, the keyboard will light up and thats it.  The only way to then bring it back from the dead is to hold down the Power Button and Volume Up button.   At that point I am brought into some device setting menu and then if I exit I am then rebooted back into Windows.  The latest update from 11/2/15 was applied that night.

    Anyone else seeing this problem?

    I have experienced this same scenario twice and I can count on one hand the times I have used my SP4. I'm concerned that it may never wake up. I have hopes that there will be a fix released to ease my worries. It was a gift for my new startup business. I don't want to return/exchange it and half to go through the setup again.

    Did you follow my instructions fully? You need to manually force the driver install. Check my instructions again for how to do that. I even included screenshots.

    I did try it but the computer won't allow me to install the driver manually. Whatever I try it keeps saying the current driver is the best driver and it won't update with the downloaded driver from Intel. Any suggestions around this?

    When my surface does this, I press CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the login screen to appear.  This does require attaching the keyboard, however.
