Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I am testing a Surface Pro 4 on loan from Microsoft for the past 4 weeks as we are considering buying 200 of them for our business here. I have to say I am VERY disappointed.

    I have used AND LOVED using my Surface Pro 3 here in work for over a year and half, had the early issues as everyone else but for well over a year I have had no issues at all, maybe sometimes the keyboard not working and you disconnect and reconnect but I had none of the issues I am having with the SP4.

    Issues are as follows: Sleep/Wake issues....Screen rotation issues, Recognising Tablet mode (keyboard keeps working when you flip around backwards/upside down), screen and icon sizing issues after connecting to Dell USB 3.0 docking station, and the BIGGEST one of ALL, the WiFi fails to connect and does not work when you have any USB 3.0 enabled device connected (this is being reported), including my Dell 3.0 Docking station, which means it disconnects from my corporate WiFi network and all my documents/websites on the network and shares and has to reconnect on the LAN on the docking station...I did not have this problem with the SP3.....

    I have ran my SP3 for a year and a half, with my Dell USB 3.0 docking station, two 24" monitors, Microsoft wireless sculpt keyboard and mouse, network LAN (not necessary for the last 8 months), headphones, Lync phone connected via USB etc without any issues, with the SP4.... its a NIGHTMARE!!!!

    Better pen experience and a higher resolution but with ALL the other issues are not worth it....right now, looks like we are going to buy Dell laptops instead for the next three years, very disappointing.....

    I am having similar issues.  Wont wake from sleep.  I reset windows and have reinstalled minimal apps.  I also notice the screen is not that responsive to touch and locks.  The machine just shut down for no reason. Now on startup, I'm stuck at the black screen w/ Surface logo and spinning dots... 

    I am so very disappointed in the quality of this experience with the SP4/Windows 10.  I don't have similar issues on other Win 10 machines so I do believe there are issues with this product.  Very disappointing as a MSFT developer AND stockholder.

      The touch screen functions, but doesn't display...

    My results too.  In these instances, Ctrl-Alt-Del brings the screen to life.

    I have never enabled Windows Hello and initially set up my Surface to not require a password.  When I started experiencing this problem, I re-enabled the password and I can confirm that I still have the problem.  So you may be rejoicing too soon!
