Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

Dear Greg,

Unfortunately, this 6/20 update did not solve the no-wake-from-sleep problem in my case (SP4 i5/8GB/256GB; LOT number: 1550). So far, the only ways to prevent this no-wakeup problem are EITHER: 1) Replace "Sleep" by "Hibernate" in all the actions (power button; lid, etc.); OR 2) Go to Device Manager => Pick Universal Serial Bus Controllers => Right click USB Root Hub (xHCI) => Pick "Properties" => Pick "Power Management" tab => Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

For a while (almost two months by now), I have been using Method 2 above with success, which is perhaps more convenient than Method 1. As people discussed around that time, this may not be a true solution though. Since May 6 or so, after each update was released, I checked (with some hope) whether this no-wakeup problem was solved or not by activating (putting the check mark on) "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" above. But so far, whenever I do this, the no-wake-from-sleep issue immediately reappears. So, I have to uncheck that item again.

Thanks, Greg. Keep working on it. The 6/20/16 driver updates did not solve the problem on my Surface Pro 4 i7. I'm trying different Wi-Fi/sleep settings. Haven't seen any evidence so far that sleep works on my Surface Pro 4.

I updated to the latest MS update and then my Surface Pro 4 locked up again. Prior to that I did a download and found the Surface was working GREAT. Now I am at a loss what to do. MS appearently reversed the previous fix
