Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I've had to exchange my device 4 (FOUR!) times now in a month. The first had the hibernation/sleep issue described here. The second, third, and even this fourth one all have an issue where the WiDi adapter sporadically disconnects. For the price of these machines, this is ludicrous and I hope this is resolved soon.

One of the problems with a board like this is you don't know how many of the complaints are outliers. Since the update, it appears that different folks have different problems. Are they rare now, or still kind of universal?

1. Some have fan problems
1. Some still have wake up problems
2. Some have battery drain problems
Why are there such discrepancies? For me, I came home today after 10 hours, after having switched from Hibernate to just Sleep mode, and it woke fine. I didn't hear the fan, but the back of the unit seemed warm for sleep. Coming back again after another hour, it is not warm. I just find these different issues to be odd. Anyway, it would help to hear if the problems are ALL of the above, or different for different machines? And if it is only on battery, or plugged in too. Now that I seem to be more stable plugged, I will explore unplugged.

I would give anything to see 2 hrs!! I have the 2nd darkest screen setting, Turn the keyboard lights off, don't use it and the battery just drains?? For a tablet it is making a good desktop as I have to leave it plugged in now! Thinking a full factory reset.... again...PITA!!!!

Ok, the update didn't fix anything about this issue. Just returned home and I get ... nothing. Screen backlight turns on, that's it. Waited for some time, pressed the power button multiple times, pressed random keys on the keyboard, waited some more... nope, it died again.

Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't bring the screen to life at this point? It has worked consistently for me. I must be blessed or something. Ever since installing the Intel video driver mentioned in previous pages, my biggest problem is occasional use of Ctrl-Alt-Del to make the screen light up. I have the keyboard cover connected almost all the time. I don't use the dock.
