Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I switched back to Sleep instead of Hibernate when plugged in after installing the update. After the very first sleep, all pointing devices had stopped working, half of the entries in the device manager showed an exclamation mark, and the machine got stuck trying to shut down. I had to force-reboot.

Because they're built poorly, and any goodwill Microsoft had generated through building an awesome an innovative product was lost due to terrible execution.

OK, my SP4 I5 256 came with the fan issue, the wake issue, and a security flaw.

    Post firmware update:

The sleep issue seems much better, I am using Sleep and it wakes fine.

The fan issue is much better, rarely on.

The SP4 was rather warm in sleep today when I came home, disturbing...but it hasn't been warm again over past 5 hours.

The battery did not do badly when I used the tablet/battery mode this evening, and after 4 hour, was only down 15 percent.  I used it for about 20 minutes, and then just let it Sleep.  Not a great battery test, but Sleep did not seem to drain it.

I still have this odd security issue.  Despite setting it to awaken with a PIN, it won't when plugged and using Sleep.  I have to just put it in Windows + L to lock it, while the Power button or Power software will not require the PIN to wake.

On battery, the power button does lead to Sleep and waking WITH a PIN.  Go figure.

Finally, when I attach the keyboard and dock/plug, the icons are large on the desktop and would not adjust without a restart.  So switching back from Tablet causes some display issue.

Now what I still don't get is why these problems differ, machine to machine.
