Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    My video driver version is still 20.19.15.4326 and frankly, if it's not been released officially by Microsoft yet, there probably is still something wrong with the newer drivers. Given the state of the current release versions I don't really trust them to deliver a functioning set of preview drivers. And from what I am reading here, we are nowhere near a solution to this problem (with neither driver version).

    LauraMer, the driver on Intel's website, mentioned back on (I think) page 42 of this thread, is 20.19.15.4352.  I've been using that for over a month now.  My wake issues have been limited to maybe 2 or 3 times over the last month, if that.  I use Ctrl-Alt-Del pretty regularly though. 

    From what I've read here, the .4352 driver doesn't work well with the dock, but I don't use the dock.  Intel makes the video hardware, and the driver.  I'm sure MS has their reasons for not rolling it out - maybe because of the dock issues - but that wouldn't dissuade me from using it.  It's made the difference between a having a Surface vs a brick.

    As an IT Pro and long time (30+ yrs) Microsoft user, I have long since stopped looking for logic and rationale in what they do, or don't do.

    Just now my Surface was sitting around with only Edge and Mail open, basically not doing anything, while I was watching some YouTube video on another computer. Since the Surface's fan started spinning up all the time, although there was no considerable CPU or disk usage, I decided to let it sleep by closing the keyboard cover.

    A couple of minutes later I opened it up again and, guess what, nothing.

    I tried CTRL+ALT+DEL, WINDOWS+P, both did not work for me. Had to shut it down and restart again.

    so far pressing windows key+P combo is the best way to go around, makes me wonder why there is not a fix on that yet. The surface 4 dock do not work on external displays while the surface 4 by itself does it, to me sounds like a firmware or bad connector design.

    That works for me only once in a while. Today, once again,important meeting, with all my files and slides ready to go.  Wouldn't wake up, and I was forced to reboot and start over,  delaying everything. This is beyond unacceptable I have never been so ticked off at Microsoft.,.
