Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

The issue is NOT fixed with the most recent update.

my device used to be fine but it has updated yesterday (2/20/2016) and today it fails to wake up from sleep

How do you think I feel, I just got the device 3 days ago :)

Hibernate does work, with Windows Hello. I guess I'll stick to that until a solid report comes that fixes Sleep state.

    Update:

After experiencing 2 wake hard reboots, decided to roll back the graphic driver.  Not sure if related to my system restore or the replacement of this one driver which was forced updated onto my system, but system appears more stable.  Will need more time to see if I was successful in rolling back the 2/17/2016 update.

I rolled back the 1/12/2016 driver (4364) which was associated with the “System hardware update 2/17/2016” to my original 11/20/2015 (4326) driver.  I believe this will correct my problems and return my SP4 to a stable condition.

You can roll back this driver by going to Device Manager -> Display adapters -> then Update Driver ->  “Browse my computer for driver software” -> “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” -> See picture below – select the 4326 driver.

Your screen will flash and the font will be temporarily reset to a larger size.  Reboot the computer and you’ll be back in business.

If you don’t have the 4326 driver, you can download it from Microsoft’s website https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49498.  You’ll need to copy from the zip folder (that you just downloaded) named “Graphics” and save it somewhere on your harddrive and reference that location when you hit “Have Disc…”.
