Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Mine now wakes from sleep almost every time, but if left sleeping overnight, it takes over a minute to turn on the camera (from the time it says it's turning on the camera). This looks like a bug to me - even if it has to reload the driver, it shouldn't take that long.

    OK, not happy here again. Ever since the 6/20 update my lot 1613 SP4--which had performed flawlessly--refuses to hibernate after entering sleep mode. Also, power usage during sleep has gone up dramatically. It was dropping about 1/2 to 1 percent per hour; now it's up to 3 or 4 percent. It still wakes each and every time from sleep or hibernation, assuming the battery hasn't gone dead.

    I had my SP4 set to hibernate after 4 hours of sleep. It always worked perfectly before that 6/20 update. Now, no matter what I do it won't enter Hibernation after it's been asleep. I can enter hibernation manually and it works fine. But if I rely on it to hibernate after a time sleeping it will never hibernate. it will sleep till the battery is dead in about 30 hours. 

    Does MS check these updates at all? Why after the failed 2/17 update and now the failed 6/20 update do machines start exhibiting problems when they did not before. Why won't MS at least let us opt out of installing certain updates, given the regularity with which MS releases updates that hurt more than they help?

    Let's see, forced updates that hurt more than they help, zero communication from MS on threads like this, annoying nag pop-ups on my windows 7 machines--like I'd want to downgrade to W10 after owning an SP4, MS store employees telling customers that refurbs are in fact new machines, sending broken machines out as refurbs without even checking them--see this thread, releasing the SP4 when they KNEW it wasn't working properly yet, etc, etc, etc. Is MS actively TRYING to drive their customers to Apple? It sure seems that way. I, for one, will never buy another Microsoft product again.
