Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I have never used Sleepstudy but I will see what it reports as something is running and making the battery warm during supposed sleep.  Has anyone by chance tried this to see what is draining batteries, or perhaps conflicting with sleep?  It seems pretty clear that Sleep runs hot and thus is probably not a truly sleep.

Did you install the Samsung NVME driver to improve the SSD performance?  A sleepstudy will show you what is draining the battery in sleep but not necessarily describe it. I found by searching the internet that the Unregistered Device \_SB.PC10.RP05.PXSX defined in my sleepstudy listing that was draining the battery fast was in fact the Samsung NVME driver.

What I learned is not to install 3rd party drivers on this device that aren't part of the MS update. If you have installed other 3rd party drivers I suggest you check them out first.

I agreed. There are not too many media website mentioning the failure of 2/17/2016 MS update. This firmware actually worse than before. I am back to hibernation mode again. The sleep mode is too risky when I place my SP4 in my bag. I am worry, it will cause fire and burn my house.

Maybe this thread needs some media attention / pressure in order to get some sort of response from Microsoft...

There's been some media attention, but not near enough.

Microsoft is still working to fix Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 power management problems

And here MS proclaims it's fixed, lol:

Microsoft says its fix for Surface Book, Surface Pro 4 finally solves power problems
