Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    *edit* No it did not. just as horrible. same with to other collegues. 

    I've stopped selling the Surface to my customers now because of all the docking problems.

    The battery thing is interesting.

    I have facial recognition on. When I press the OFF button to turn it to sleep or hibernation without the keyboard attached, it will go black then come back on ... and search for me for a very long time. I wonder whether for some of the battery drain some of you are reporting, it is doing the same - it's actually on searching for you. I have to remember to press the OFF button twice.

    Then sometimes I see this also. Probably not related directly to the topic here so I might look for another thread.

    Like some of you, I'm back on my Mac which is my main machine anyway. This is my first Windows device.

    I know how difficult it is for software to interact with hardware. But the Surface is made by MS itself, so this should be better. It shows how complex Windows is. Apple completely abandoned OS9 and developed OSX and developed a modern, streamlined interface. MS has not been able to do this perhaps because so many users are reliant on different parts of the OS. Windows 10 has some nice simplified Settings pages, but mostly I have to hunt around in the real Control panels to do anything which makes it difficult for me to understand if you do not have a background in Windows previously. There are settings scattered all about and running a Search often does not find the one you want.

    Unfortunately, I'm experience issues coming out of sleep as well.  This started after the most recent update.
