Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    My Surface Pro 4 was working fine until the Feb. 17 update that was supposed to fix problems I did not have. 

    Twice since I updated on Feb. 20 my Surface Pro 4 will not turn on when I push the power button.

    I have held the power button down for the 30 secs and it still will not start.

    The only thing that worked was to hold the volume up and the power button at the same time for 15 secs which got me to the UEFI screen where I push exit and restart.

    The Feb. 17 update apparently caused the problem it was supposed to solve.

    Has anyone else experienced this problem since the Feb. 17 update?

    My fellow early adopters. I may have discovered a solution that seems to address the non-waking screen and poor battery life.

    I've disabled "Fast-Start". Also to extend my battery life I've enable "battery saving mode". Adjusting both settings have increased my battery substantially and has so far remedied the non-waking screen issue. However, I must paint these statements with the caveat that further testing is required.

    I remain optimistic that MS will continue to investment of this tech and hear our voices. They have a unique market with the Surface and it would be tremendously disappointing to ignore these rather disturbing bugs.

    Hello All

    I have the same issue with the new Surface pro 4 and new dock, I had no issues with the SP3 and older dock.

    When undocking and re-docking I lose the connectivity to the 2 monitors. This is happening to multiple Surfaces and docks as I have many.

    I have 50 units to roll out in my office and this issue is stopping me. Can Microsoft please confirm there is a known issue to them and it is being looked in to. When will an update for the dock or o/s be coming to fix this? I have the most recent updates installed by the way (2/17/2016).

    Try the below

    Press and hold the Windows key press the P key 4 times (to cycle through to (Second screen only)

    Press Enter to select 'No' on the  'Are you sure you only want to use the second screen'

    you may have to swipe the screen up to bring it back but most of the time it brings it back.

    Guessing the Surface display forgets it is a screen and when you do the above it rescan's and detects the attached screens
