Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I got my review denied today. Obviously they are printing some one star reviews, but I'm just guessing that they are probably publishing all 4 and 5 star reviews. Since it seems like most 1 star reviews are rejected--at least it seems that way looking at this thread--you have to wonder just how bad the review ratio would look if they published as many 1 star reviews as 4 and 5 star reviews...

I bought this in November, it was so bug ridden I had to return it. In December, I bought another one. Not as bug ridden, but would not wake from sleep. Microsoft promised to fix the issue in early 2016, so I kept the machine. Big mistake. Microsoft released<br> their "Fix" on Feb 17 and now claims the problem is fixed. One thing I've noticed in my quick glance at the posts where people have said their review was rejected (and they've posted a copy of their review) vs. reviews that were accepted and posted - the rejected reviews (although I may be mistaken) all contain a link to this thread in the forums. Many review sites do not allow links to be posted in reviews. Maybe this is Microsoft's policy as well, and why the reviews are getting rejected. I noticed one that got posted mentioned this thread in the forums, but only mentioned the thread by title and did not contain a link to the thread. Maybe those of you who are getting their reviews rejected should try again, but not insert an actual link.

So, I went to look on Reddit and some guy said that if you have the app "Deezer Music preview" and keep it running, it impedes the sleeping issue from happening.

So far, so good. It's working here for me. Just hope this not jinx it for me haha.

It's worth giving it a try anyway.

I visited the MS store over the weekend. They installed a 'special unreleased' build. Fingers crossed I haven't had the problem since...

The tech said he didn't know why MS hasn't released it widely, they weren't even allowed to install it on their in store surfaces...

What build do you have installed now? I think the store is giving people lip service on the "special build".
