Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

Now you guys have scared me.  My lot number is 1542, purchased right after Thanksgiving 2015.  The February updates seem to have fixed mine, but I hope it's not temporary if those lots are all bad!  I have not had wake problems plugged, unplugged, or keyboard or tablet since then (used hibernate up till then).  Fan has been ok, and heat is the only thing I'm not sure about yet (sometimes may seem warm when sleeping).  Not superstitious, but still knocking on wood right now.

Anyone else with lower lot numbers working ok? 

Lot 1546 i7 512....Been working great since Dec 2015.  Never had wake from sleep issues or heat issues when sleeping.  Only real issue is battery drain during sleep which is 2-4% per hour but since I have it set to hibernate after 15 minutes it's no biggie for me.

Thanks LordZemus with making that post maybe now i can narrow down that this is indeed a hardware issue. I have been to the microsoft store twice already and the first time they said it was a known issue and that the firmware would fix it. The second time one of the employees told me that microsoft was aware of the issue and that it was software related, so here i am waiting for another firmware update that may never come. I have been on the fence about exchanging my device because i do not want one with more issues. So far sleep is the only bug that my surface pro 4 has. I had the display crashing issue in the beginning but never had the flickering issue that others have talked about. If i can narrow it down to hardware then i will definitely go for an exchange and hope to not receive a unit with more problems. At this point i am tired of installing all my applications after a system restore.

I have had three different Surface Pro 4's now. I had bought one in November, then replaced it for one in December, and now I received a replacement one at the Kansas City Microsoft Store during a vacation. I bought the last one from Adorama online.

None of the updates had ever fixed the issue on my two previous ones, however the current replacement has been working nearly flawlessly. By that, I mean that Windows Hello works, the system doesn't wake up in the middle of the night in my computer bag leaving me with a dead battery in the morning, and it has consistently turned back on from sleep! There has been a time or two that took two presses of the power button, but it has yet to fail.

The solution might be in exchanging your surface at a Microsoft store. I was skeptical when store employees said that they had quite a few customers which were very happy with their surface pro 4's, and they didn't have any issues. Maybe there was a hardware fix incorporated into the newer devices?

My replacement one came out of the box with a big blemish/dent on the back cover, that was a bummer..

Please keep us informed if your new unit gets into the sleep failure - we've have many false starts on this where we think it's working and with software install, it reverts back to the same behavior.

Yeah I'll let you know.  But Ive got a good feeling about this one.  This display is fantastic, great colors, white point, noticeably different than the last.  I don't know if this could say be a difference between, Samsung, Sharp, Lg displays, ect.  One of these companies got it very wrong.. 

But the most important thing is ... no sleep issues ... so far.  And I've loaded it up with printer drivers and other things.
