Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I have straightened out my updates now. With the help of deleting the firmware drivers, using the Surface Platform Installer, a couple of reboots and the use of pnputil -d ....

It is all so straightforward....

I can't understand how Microsoft can inflict level of complexity on customers paying premium prices for their Microsoft hardware and software. I had hoped that buying into the Surface line would result in simplicity and the best possible experience.

Now to see if that sleep / wake problem has been fully resolved...

Surface Pro 4 (i7-6650 8gb RAM)

Microsoft surface dock (New model)

2 x DELL U2312HM (Connected via 2 off Mini DP to DP Cables)

-Both external displays work fine when the dock is initially attached to Surface Pro.

-BUT when the Surface wakes from the screen being locked it no longer sees the two external displays.

-The only thing I can do is unplug the dock and plug it back in. Major pain as I have MANY windows open that then all pile onto the Surface screen.
- Sometimes the unplug and plug back in of the dock does not work either. The display settings show two smaller monitors next to the surface (Which is wrong anyway as they should be larger) but you cannot select them or make changes etc
- Have tried various other cables such as VGA plugged into the Microsoft suggested adapters)

Make sure you restart after the first install reboot. Mine hadn't finished...then go into Device Manager and see if you have any exclamation points!?

I can verify, woke from hibernate after sleep this morning. Reason I say that is because the default is to hibernate after 120 minutes of sleep on battery. Put it to sleep last night, so I imagine after a few hours it went from sleep to hibernate, and woke fine this morning. And that's with Excel, Word, Chrome, and a few other things running. Best of all, battery went from 43% to 41% overnight.

I am again cautiously optimistic, but definitely this is looking good so far. Hope everything tries this, and if I can if it's not working for you, I'll see if I can help. Because I ran the gammut of things tried after 2/17 screwed up my SP4
